Home Tour: Romantic Spanish Mansion

I'll tell you a little bit about me and my taste when it comes to interiors: I often love traditional homes, like, I love a classic Victorian house and its interiors. It inspires me (just like Victorian literature). But it does not mean I would like to live in such a house. However, I would immediately move into a traditional house with a modern twist in interior design.

When I spotted this amazing traditional Spanish house with a romantic twist, I instantly fell in love with it and felt the need to share it with you. It is the home of  Spanish fashion designer Jorge Vázquez in the northwestern province of Galicia.

This old rural mansion with its exposed, century old walls literally breathe history. All this is combined with a romantic and eclectic interior design and carefully chosen decoration to underline the house owner's personality.

I particularly love the strong contrast in the kitchen. The modern kitchen with shiny stainless steel surfaces   pops against the rugged historical wall backdrop. Well, I enjoyed this little home tour. Hope you too!

  2. Thank you for sharing these pictures with us and yes, I did enjoy this small tour in this lovely house. It is quite difficult for me tell which room I liked the most because I liked all the pictures of this house. The modern kitchen in the old model house was an amazing idea and very interesting too. I love the creativity of the interior designer of this house and I would like to know the name of the interior designer of this house. I will be glad if you could share the name with us... Thank you once again.

    1. Hi, as far as I understood the original article (find the link under the blog post) it was designed by the home owner who is a fashion designer.

wonderful home tour and yes the kitchen is my favorite area, too.
I could do with some changes in the bathroom though, but I guess nobody asked me, right? ; )

  7. I think it can be such a tricky thing (cause I have SO much trouble in my own ginormous mansion, har har!) to marry warmth and modern comfort with that kind of grandeur, but they've done such a wonderful job here. It's homey and stunning all at once.

  8. Oh yes! I am quite enamoured with this place. Although, I totally get what you mean about loving or being attracted to a certain style but not wanting to live with it necessarily. When I was young (until 16 or so) I was obsessed with anything Victorian - my dream home then looks very different from my dream home now. But when I experience a Victorian interior I still love it and it makes me nostalgic - just as Victorian spaces should, I think :)

This romantic Spanish home is very unique - thanks for sharing. I am most enjoying the bedroom and the kitchen. Pinned already ;)
